Pip's Island was a one-of-a-kind immersive theatrical experience for young audiences, running in New York City from 2016 through 2020. As co-founder and creative director, I designed the characters, built the worlds, and shaped the story — from the flying ship to the bakery, across nine physical spaces that blended live performance, puppets, animation, and interactive play. My work extended beyond the stage to the retail store design, merchandise, and exterior window installations. Voted Best Family Show in New York by the Off-Broadway Alliance in 2019.

Character Design
Every character began as a drawing and ended as a character that held a live audience daily. I designed each one from first sketch through final character, working closely with fabricators and puppeteers. Once they went in, I stayed with them: adjusting, repairing, and keeping every character on-model through the wear of a running show.
Set Design
Pip's Island wasn't a stage — it was nine physical worlds an audience moved through, room by room. I built each environment from concept sketch to 3D rendering, then partnered closely with scenic shops, fabricators, and vendors to realize them at full scale, on-site. I saw every space through installation and stayed with the run, maintaining and refining through each week's punch list to keep the worlds alive.
